Formula and How It Works
1. Basic Pay Calculation:

The calculator uses the selected pay level and basic pay from the 8th CPC matrix.

2. Dearness Allowance (DA):

DA = Basic Pay × DA Percentage

You can select from predefined DA rates or enter a custom percentage manually.

3. Revised Pay:

Revised Pay = Basic Pay × Fitment Factor

The fitment factor is applied to the basic pay to determine the revised pay structure.

4. House Rent Allowance (HRA):

HRA = Revised Pay × HRA Percentage

HRA percentage varies based on city type:

  • X City (Class X): 30%, 27%, or 24%
  • Y City (Class Y): 20%, 18%, or 16%
  • Z City (Class Z): 10%, 9%, or 8%
5. Transport Allowance (TA):

TA varies based on pay level and city type:

  • Level 1-2: ₹1,350 (Higher TPTA) or ₹900 (Other Cities)
  • Level 3-8: ₹3,600 (Higher TPTA) or ₹1,800 (Other Cities)
  • Level 9 and above: ₹7,200 (Higher TPTA) or ₹3,600 (Other Cities)

TA with DA = TA + (TA × DA Percentage)

6. Gross Salary:

Gross Salary = Revised Pay + DA + HRA + TA with DA + Additional Allowances

7. Deductions:
  • NPS Contribution (10% of Revised Pay + DA) if applicable
  • CGHS Contribution based on pay level
  • Income Tax (calculated based on annual income)
  • Additional Deductions (if any)
8. Net Salary:

Net Salary = Gross Salary - NPS Contribution - CGHS Contribution - Income Tax - Additional Deductions

9. Income Tax Calculation (New Regime):

Annual Taxable Income = (Monthly Gross Salary × 12) - Standard Deduction (₹75,000)

Tax is calculated based on income slabs with applicable rates and cess.
